St. Stephen Choir Room Updated
Date: January 28th 2007
A local Eagle Scout candidate is leading a group of adults and young people to help get my choir room updated this weekend (Pics). He is doing this work as part of the requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout and we are very lucky to have his assistance in this project. Our goals were to lighten the color of the room, organize the music library and update some of the furnishings and fixtures.
They had a fund raiser last weekend and raised over $500 to help cover the costs of the project. This weekend the team cleared the room, repaired the holes in the drywall, painted the ceiling and walls, installed new ceiling fans, hung a magnetic whiteboard and assembled some steel bakers rack shelving. At the same time, other team members worked to enter our music anthem library into a software package I wrote to make worship planning easier. Another volunteer is painting a lovely mural on one wall featuring musical theme and a church musician's prayer. Some of the tasks will not be completed until next weekend, but the largest part of the work is already complete.
I would like to thank all the volunteers who have helped make this project a success!
